Night rain under an orbital blockade. A courier, a paper dispatch, and two powers that have already spent the century.

Postcard #02: Rain Over the Blockade

The war of 2100 does not arrive as a parade. It arrives as weather. Rain on a coastal bridge, neon shorting along the quay, and a paper dispatch that will not stay dry.

Above the harbor the galactic human alliance keeps a few orbital mecha in the cloud, small at this distance, more lantern than weapon. The earth republic answers with searchlamps, amber rakes across black water. Neither side has written a slogan the postcard can read.

Someone still tries to mail the night home. The courier stands where the street is empty, ink running, the orbital blockade only a darker band in the rain. Political, unfinished, and ordinary enough to send.
