Postcard #05: The Cyber Gym
A night gym after the shift. Robot coaches keep the bar steady while chrome arms finish a set the city is not watching.
Postcard #05: The Cyber Gym
The shift ended an hour ago. What is left is the set: a cable stack still warm, a robot coach holding the bar where the last repetition stopped, and a chrome forearm catching the neon like a wet railing.
Nobody is performing. One trainee rests a mechanical hand on the machine. Another finishes a slow press while the coach’s optic stays dim, patient, municipal. Outside the glass the city rains in cyan and magenta. Inside, the yellow housings are scuffed down to the year they were proud of.
The machines do not speak. The postcard is mailed from the floor, between sets, before anyone racks the night.
